Ismael Hipolito Djata is a
contemporary visual artist born in Guine-Bissau, West Africa. At the age of 6 he started to explore drawing
with exceptional skills. He studied arts
at the University of do Minho in Guimaraes, Portugal. Also Ismael is an accomplished poet and
sculpture artist.
He belongs to a family of
artist. His brothers founded Irmaos
Unidos. He is an award winning artist
that exhibits locally and abroad like in Cap Vert, France, Portugal, Belgium
and Senegal. Also he is a member of
Guinean Plastic Artist Association of Africa.
Throughout his 30 exhibitions
most of his recognitions are in Franca Gallery of the Camara de Guimaraes of
his art Encontro, The Millenium, Festival of International Art Contemporary in
Buxieres-them-Mine, etc.
Art according to Ismael has no
borders, colors or mother countries. It
is universal that allows us to feel the heat of the earth and of the people.
Predominant in his own
self-expression of the arts is hyperrealism in human figures.

Surprisingly, I've actually heard of him! I only say "surprisingly" because I don't really move around in the art world. I'm wondering if I saw a piece of his at the local fine arts center.
